Starting with the 2006.1 release, ComponentArt Web.UI includes extensive support for ASP.NET 2.0. Offered as a separate download, ComponentArt Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET 2.0 is compiled against the .NET 2.0 Framework and includes native support for the following ASP.NET 2.0-specific features:
ASP.NET 2.0 Navigation Architecture
All ComponentArt Web.UI navigation controls natively support binding with the ASP.NET 2.0 Web.sitemap. In this respect, they behave just like the built-in ASP.NET 2.0 navigation controls. In addition, ComponentArt has provided a way to extend the default ASP.NET 2.0 sitemap structure in order to take advantage of the advanced features that Web.UI navigation controls offer.
Binding With ASP.NET 2.0 Data Controls
All ComponentArt Web.UI navigation controls support binding with SiteMapDataSource and XmlDataSource controls, while ComponentArt Grid for ASP.NET 2.0 supports binding with AccessDataSource, SqlDataSource, and ObjectDataSource controls.
ASP.NET 2.0 Skins and Themes
All ComponentArt Web.UI controls provide native support for ASP.NET 2.0 skins and themes. This functionality is demonstrated through the theme selection mechanism within the Web.UI 2006.1 ASP.NET 2.0 Demo Application.
Enhanced Handling of Client Scripts
ComponentArt Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET 2.0 natively enables client script caching. Developers no longer need to maintain special folders containing Web.UI client scripts.
XHTML 1.0 Strict Compliant Output
All ComponentArt Web.UI 2006.1 for ASP.NET 2.0 controls produce XHTML 1.0 strict compliant output.
